Puerto De Santiago

Puerto de Santiago is the largest and most popular resort on the southwest coast of the island. Playa De La Arena is located here – the famous beach of natural black volcanic sand, which is credited with many healing properties. Locals jokingly call Puerto de Santiago a one-street city, as it consists of a central street along the coast and small streets leading to residential buildings and hotels. Since the city is located in a mountainous area, there are several viewing platforms with stunning views of the famous Giant Rocks and neighboring islands. The town imperceptibly passes into the neighboring village of Los Gigantes, which is also popular among lovers of water activities: diving, fishing boat trips on yachts, boats and scooters. Puerto de Santiago attracts tourists who prefer a quiet beach holiday, measured pastime, the opportunity to admire beautiful landscapes and colorful sunsets. The southern airport and the bustling resorts of Las Americas and Los Cristianos are within a 40-50 minute drive.
